Our Cypress Lumber    is the nicest Cypress available because of its rich color, tight grain, proper kiln drying, correct grading and beautiful manufacture.  The details of our quality requirements, described in About Cypress, are what makes our products special and the finest on the market. 

Kiln Dried ( abbreviated KD) -  our lumber is Kiln Dried.

Shipment is Nationwidepackaged on pallets with steel banding.  Our fine products will arrive in perfect shape.

1.  Cypress Lumber : Available in rough and finished form.

  • Rough - still has saw marks visible on board ( KD)           
  • Finished - has been planed, surfaced,  ripped, or moulded       
  • Grades - Select ( few knots ) & No. 2C ( more knots )       

Lumber Sizes :

  • Boards  -          1 x 4, 1 x 6, 1 x 8, 1 x 10, and 1 x 12
  • Dimension -      2 x 4, 2 x 6, 2 x 8, 2 x 10, and 2 x 12

2.  Cypress Tongue & Groove ( T&G ) patterns :

  • SL 122 - V Groove
  • SL 7553 - Beaded Board  
  • SL 51061 - Old New Orleans Single Bead   
  • SL 100 - Center Match ( smooth joint)   
  • SL 127 - 3/8" thick x 3 1/8" wide beaded board  
  • The above patterns are shown in diagram form on the Tongue & Groove page 
  • Standard Sizes are produced from 4", 6" and 8" width lumber
  • Wider T&G may be available by special order
  • T&G is smooth on wide faces - no sanding needed
  • T&G is manufactured from KD lumber - Milling is second to none  

3.  Cypress Beams 
  • Beams are custom sawn from fresh green Cypress logs
  • All Cypress beams are custom sawn when they are ordered
  • Beams are sound & square edge - cut on true sizes
  • Kiln Drying is available for Beam orders of at least 20,000 board feet
  • Surfacing is available for Beams of most sizes
  • Typical Beam Widths :  From 3" wide to 12" wide
  • Typical Beam Lengths :  From 8' to 24'
  • Lengths longer than 24 feet are usually available but may take longer to cut

  • Kiln Dried beams are available in truckload quantities.  
  • Surfacing is available for many sizes of beams.

4.  Cypress Siding: recommended types, all Kiln Dried ( KD) 
  • Board & Batten
  • Reverse Board & Batten
  • Beveled Siding - 3/4" thick at the butt and tapered
  • Beveled Resawn Siding - 9/16" thick at the butt and tapered
  • Pattern 105 Siding
  • Custom Siding made to your pattern
Board & Batten - wide boards side by side , narrow batten strip covers gap
  • May be Select grade or No. 2 grade
  • Made with boards from 8" to 12" wide
Reverse Board & Batten - wide boards with a wide gap between - another wide board
covers the gap       
  • May be Select grade or No. 2 grade
  • Made with boards from 8" to 12" wide
Beveled Siding - 3/4" thick at butt, tapers up to 3/8" thick at the narrow edge    
  • May be Select grade or No. 2 grade       
  • May have a smooth face for painting or a rough face for staining
  • Generally made from 6"or 8" wide boards

Beveled Resawn Siding - 9/16" thick at butt, tapers up to 1/4" thick at narrow edge

  • May be Select grade or No. 2 grade
  • May have a smooth face for painting or a rough face for staining
  • Generally made from 6" or 8" wide boards

    Pattern 105 Siding        

  • Smooth Face and Back
  • Made from either 6" or 8" wide boards
  • Select grade recommended

5.  Pecky Cypress 
  • Pecky Cypress is characterized by small tunnels through the wood
  • Pecky tunnels are finger sized pockets running with the grain
  • Caused by a fungus - Stereum - that dies when the log is cut
  • Stereum attacks the heartwood of some Cypress trees
  • Pecky Cypress is always sold Kiln Dried ( KD)
  • Available in 1" thick boards
  • Generally sold in 6" or 8" wide boards, or random width ( 6" - 12")
  • T&G Pecky Cypress makes beautiful interior ceiling and walls
  • Most common T&G pattern for Pecky Cypress is Center Match
  • Can be mixed with No. 2 Cypress to give a room a "feeling" of
    • Pecky Cypress without being 100 % Pecky Cypress

6.  Sinker Cypress 
  • Available in 1" thick boards except by special cutting order
  • Often sold random width to lower average cost
  • Color sorting is sometimes available
  • Most affordable T&G is random width mixture of 4", 6" & 8" widths

7.  Cypress Flooring
  • Always KD   
  • Grades - Select ( mostly free of knots) and No.2 grade   
  • Thickness - 3/4" for nail down and 1/2" for glue down application   
  • Widths - 3", 5" and 7"
  • Other sizes may be produced by custom order if needed
  • Standard milling - tongue & groove with relief cuts
  • Can be used for Porch Flooring - see Cypress Decking
  • Finish - can be Smooth or Rough ( rough is also called Dirty Top)

8.  Cypress Decking 
  • Decking is always KD, except for No. 2 made from 2" thick boards
  • Decking has rounded edges unless otherwise specified
  • Available in 3", 5" and 7" widths
  • Random Lengths 8' to 16' unless otherwise specified
  • Select grade ( few knots) give the smoothest touch to bare feet
Available in three thicknesses:
  • 7/8" thick for floor joists with 16" spacing -Select & No. 2
  • 1 1/4" thick for joists spaced 16" and wider, or for appearance 
  • Select grade only
  • Available with edge grooves for fastening with deck clips
  • 1 1/2" thick for heavy construction, including roof decking
  • Select & No 2 grades ( No. 2 - 2" thick is air dried
Decking can be supplied in T&G if specified
9.  Cypress Moulding 
  • Crown Moulding - For patterns click on "Crown" Link on left

  • Casing Moulding - For patterns click on "Casing" Link on left
  • Other Patters - Contact us with your request.  We do not publish a catalog but have many patterns.  We can also match your pattern if you need something custom made.

10.  Antique Cypress
  • Antique Cypress is Cypress from the virgin forests that is being re-used, and it is called Reclaimed Cypress.
  • Known for its beauty - tight grain and rich color
  • Antique usually has knots and nail holes from prior use
  • Generally sold 1" thick and surfaced to 7/8" to smooth it
  • Supplies are variable
